I’m a comedian in real life, which means I have talked into a microphone loudly and proudly about the kinds of things most people whisper about, and I take life’s awkward moments in stride. Or the time I flirted with the doctor before he gave me a colonoscopy. (He flirted with me after, too. What does that say about how beautiful I am on the inside, huh?).

If a sense of adventure is what excites you, then step right up! Comedians can always tell when some interesting shit is about to go down and know how to follow the action. That’s not just because we love telling stories, we also love living a story! It’s an exhilarating feeling to know you’re really alive and in the moment, even if that means you find yourself in a club in Scotland filled with loud, toothless, aging gay men wearing assless chaps, fighting to shut them up while you throw yourself into a split and start freestyle rapping. Hey, I won them over in the end!
- Comedians know how to party.
It’s no secret that comedians are legendary partiers. But it’s not just because some of us are terrible drunks. It’s because we love to have fun and make fun for other people. And because some of us are also terrible drug addicts.
- We like movies about dumb sh*t.
Afraid a girly girl won’t want to watch frat humor with you? Don’t worry. We love to laugh at broad comedy as much as we love to cry at movies for broads. Fortunately, Bridesmaids andThe Heat fall into both categories, and I’m pretty sure you’d love those flicks, too.
- We won’t suffocate you by wanting to hang out with you every single night.
Dating a person with their own life and interests is key to maintaining a healthy relationship (and your own life and interests!). Of course I’d love for you to come to my comedy shows, but you don’t have to be there every single time. Thankfully I’ve got an adoring audience of strangers who also need my love and care.
But, to answer your question, and to let you know what the one con of dating a funny lady is:
Yes, you will end up in my act.
That’s also the downside of dating any comedian. As long as you’re not a jerk, you’ve got nothing to worry about! NO PRESSURE. (If your funny girl isn’t a comedian, replace “act” with “conversations with her BFFs where she does act-outs of your annoying habits.” But don’t worry, baby – you’re perfect.)
- We love surprises!
You thought I forgot number seven, didn’t you? Well, I did. But through the magic of improvisation and the rule that there are no mistakes, here we are. Imagine how fun I would be popping up behind you on a date, going, “DID YOU FORGET ME?! HERE I AM! LUCKY NUMBER 7! WOO!”

BAUCHI—An 18-year-old housewife in Bauchi State has been arraigned at the Chief Magistrate’s Court 7, Bauchi, for allegedly killing her husband with hot water.
Aisha Jibrin was said to have lost one of her front teeth as a result of beatings received from her husband, who accused her of going for an abortion without his consent.
It was not certain at press time if the quarrel was over the issue of the paternity of the aborted baby or the abortion itself.
She was said to have poured hot water on Ladan who was taking his bath, which led to his death in a hospital.
The incident happened on Wednesday, October 8, at the couple’s residence at Jahun Ward, Bauchi Metropolis, at about 5p.m.
According to a close family friend, who pleaded anonymity, problem started for the newly-wedded Aisha when news of the abortion reached her husband.
The deceased brother, Nasiru Mohammed, reported the matter at Dutse Tanshi Police Station and Aisha was arrested and charged to court.
According to the Investigation Police Officer, Abdulahi Adamu, the suspect has been charged with culpable homicide punishable under Section 224 of the Penal Code.
The Chief Magistrate Presiding over the case, Isa El-Shuaibu, has adjourned the case to Tuesday October 28, for further hearing.

Folly Coker, the upwardly-mobile senior aide of Gov Babatunde Fashola, who was rumored to be dating sensational singer, Tiwa Savage, has described the tale as untrue.
Coker also described his alleged ownership of Mavin Records, supposedly owned by renowned producer, Don Jazzy, as a figment of the imagination of some idle minds and jobless individuals.
In the last few days, the rumour of Coker, being at the centre of the alleged troubled marriage of Tiwa Savage, 34, and Tunji Balogun, 36, had been making its rounds at some blogs and social media sites.
But an undisclosed source close to the tall and handsome son of Chief Folarin Coker defended him as having nothing to do with Tiwa Savage and Mavin Records.
“These reports are tissues of lies, the undisclosed insider said. “Folly knows Don Jazzy and likes his music a lot. But he has no investment in Mavin Records. These things are pure lies.
“For Tiwa Savage, you cannot even say they are friends, not to talk of lovers. They don’t exchange text messages or anything.
“The story is definitely sponsored and there’s no iota of truth in it. Legal action has commenced against the fabricators of the damaging tale,” the insider said.

John Okafor popularly known as Mr.Ibu turned 54, last Sunday and the comic actor rolled out drums to mark his birthday in grand style.
He threw a birthday bash that had all the trappings of a five star event in Owerri, with Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State in attendance. Rochas was represented at the event which held at Rock View hotels, by one of his Commissioners,Hon. Uche Nwosu.
Also, in attendance were Nollywood stars including Chinyere Winfred, Offialagu Mbaka, Dauda, Jericho, Emeka Rollas, Ajebo, Kakaki,Chinyere Udoma, Dunhil, Adin Williams and one time John player world dancing champion, Issac Chinagorum. Popular musicians like Xbuster and Ibeh Chukwuneke a.k.a MC Chuks thrilled the audience with their scintillating tunes and performances that held the audience spellbound.
Interestingly, at the event, the comic-actor was presented with the Best Movie Actor of the Year award, by the Peace Ambassadors Of Nigeria. BY FRANCIS IGATAENUGU – Tragedy struck at the weekend in Akpawfu village in Nkanu-East Local Government Area of Enugu state when Ndidi Ozoemena Nwankwo was allegedly beaten to death by her husband, Ozoemena Nwankwo at about 10.05PM of October 17.
Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command has launched an investigation into the heinous crime describing the suspect as an alleged serial wife beater.
According to a statement released to newsmen by Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, DSP, he said:” Close family source informed the command that the suspect had been using his wife as punching bag.
“The suspects wife is four months pregnant. Due to the beating she got from the husband on that fateful day which inflicted injuries on her right leg and on her vital organs, she was rushed to hospital.
“She was unconscious at the nearby hospital were she was rush to and the doctors on duty confirmed her dead. The reason for the beating is yet-to-ascertained. The suspect, Ozemena Nwankwo has been nabbed and is helping Police with investigation.”
Meanwhile, the deceased corpse has been deposited at the Agbani General Hospital for autopsy.
Police Spokesperson however said that the matter will be charged to court once investigations is concluded urging members of the public to always avail security agencies of information that will nip crime in the bud to cub crime in the society.
