 A woman simply identified as Mercy was on Monday morning caught sleeping with another man in Otukpo, Benue State.
Her husband identified as Okpani caught the wife and her lover red-handed after he set them up, having suspected the wife was constantly cheating on him.

DailyPost gathered that Okpani, a Local Government staff told his pregnant wife that he will be going for a NULGE meeting which is supposed to take place in Makurdi, the state capital this morning. However, Okpani went to the neighbour’s house to stay and spy on his wife’s movement.After a while, a middle aged man who was identified as Omale walked stealthily into his matrimonial room. Okpani gave them a little time before coming out of his hideout into the room, and alas, his wife was having sexual intercourse with Omale.

As at press time, people are gathered at Okpani’s compound, waiting for the Police to arrive.

The Council of Babalawos in Northern Nigeria has urged security agencies in the country to investigate a former governor of Borno State, Ali Modu Sheriff and Gen. Azubuike Ihejirika within 40 days otherwise it would be forced to sue the men for allegedly financing terrorism.

In a statement made available to Punch and signed by its chairman, Mr. Fabunmi Aiyesoro and vice chairman, Mr. Ogunwale Ogunshola, the Council regretted that 48 of its members had died in the hand of the Boko Haram since 2011.

“If the Federal Government refuses to do this, our members shall resort to special prayers for 21 days for God’s wrath to befall Sheriff, Ihejirika, their fellow collaborators and Boko Haram members.’’

The council further called on the government to dislodge the insurgents from all the forests and villages in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states with immediate effect.

“Our members source herbs from forests like Sambisa, Biu, Gwoza and Hong and taking over these areas by this retrogressive group has denied us the opportunity of contributing to the health and well-being of the people.

“Babalawos are Nigerians and deserve the same recognition accorded Imams and Pastors by government. Many churches and mosques have received compensation from state governments for the destruction of their places of worship but not a single Babalawo has received a condolence message or any form of monetary compensation since the Boko Haram problem started three years ago.’’

Ahead of the 2015 general elections, a former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has further reiterated his support for the second coming of President Goodluck Jonathan, assuring that his (Jonathan’s) victory will be a walkover in 2015.

The former Governor while speaking at a rally of Labour Party in Odeda local government area of the state. He explained that the yet-to-be-declared second term ambition of President Jonathan is a right, which nobody could contest.

The LP chieftain while affirming that the support for the President was not negotiable said it is until 2019 before anybody could have a choice.

“President Jonathan, you know I have never deceived you, and I have been saying a lot of things about him, have you seen anything to the contrary? Who’s that person that’ll even contest with him? We have just five months to the election. They said he can’t do it, he became the governor, he cannot do it, he became the vice president, and also the president for the first time but they said it was a necessity and that he cannot succeed. We did election in 2011 and he became the president.
