In a press statement released by the Defence Headquarters yesterday, Mallam Husaini had led and instrumented series of attacks on security personnel and spearheaded the attack on the Police Special Anti-Robbery Squad HQ in Abuja in Nov. 2012. Husaini also led the attack on a military convoy moving from Lokoja to Kaduna which led to the death of two soldiers in January 2013.
The military recovered a Ford bus used by the terrorists to operate, 8 Primed Improvised Explosive Devices, rifles, pistols and about 70 rounds of ammunition after the shoot out.
This new video “Ejeajo” is nothing but testament to that fact. Raising the bar a bit higher this timearound, PSquare went all out to recruit one of the U.S’ hottest rappers and hitmaker, T.I. With their 6th studio album set to drop in a jiffy, the magical duo overcame a family rift and subsequently released 3 singles off the upcoming album.
“Ejeajo” is a contemporary pop tune spiced with a sprinkle of Afrobeat and archetypical Michael Jackson dance steps even the late singer would be proud of. Directed by the ever reliable Clarence Peters and elder brother to the duo, Jude ‘Engees’ Okoye, the video does absolute justice to the song itself. If you’re a fan of electric pop and quick dance steps, you’ll definitely love this one. Check it out!!
After the resignation of President Blaise Compaore — who himself faced violent protests over his desire to extend his 27-year rule — Burkina Faso’s military took power.
On Sunday, a huge crowd gathered in Ouagadougou, protesting the military government and demanding the return to constitutional rule.
Gunfire erupted during clashes between the protesters and security forces near the location of the state news television channel, local journalist Ouezen Louis Oulon told CNN.
On Saturday, the military consolidated its support behind Lt. Col. Isaac Yacouba Zida, who will serve as interim President until elections can be held.
On Sunday, as the protests renewed, the African Union and the Economic Community of West African States called for peace and an orderly transition to democracy

Pastor Tunde Bakare has in the past explained why he left The Redeemed Christian Church Of God to start his own ministry, but has never really explained why he left Deeper Life Bible Church in the first place for RCCG. In this new interview with City People Magazine, the Pastor explained the real reason that made him leave the church in the 80’s. (I find it very interesting.) Read below
I was in Deeper Life for five years, between 1978 and December 1983. Brother Kumuyi was and is still a great teacher of the Word. The person that put the fear of God in me was Brother Kumuyi. He laid the foundation for systematic teaching that many people see me do today. However, I rose through the ranks. I preached while I was there and conducted youth meetings. I was doing some legal works for the ministry also. I registered some of their companies. But one day while I was ministering and a brother was interpreting, I was giving example of the “faith cometh by hearing and hearing the word of God” and I said, ‘Supposing you go to a supermarket to buy soap, you might not know what soap to buy but because you watched the advertisement of Joy soap on television, then you would look for Joy soap because you have been hearing about it.’
And my interpreter said: “If you have been watching the devil’s box … ” I told him I didn’t say devil’s box but television, and he repeated saying the devil’s box and Brother Kumuyi was behind us. I said I didn’t say devil’s box and that the normal interpretation is amu ohun mu aworan, (the box that captures both the voice and the visuals). Anyway, he still said what he said. The following Sunday, Brother Kumuyi came up with what he called “Sunday Exaltation”; he said that even if you repair television, you are a child of the devil. Then I took my Bible and left. I went home and said I would serve my God, but was not interested anymore in church. So I returned to Surulere Baptist Church. And one day, my photographer came to me and said I should not just sit like that and that I should come and join his church because I would enjoy it. I asked, ‘What is the name of your church’ and he said The Redeemed Christian Church of God. I said okay and that I would come one day since I was not interested at that moment. The first Sunday of March, 1984, I invited my wife and said we should go (we were not married then). I borrowed a car because I had no car then. We drove to that church and I discovered I had been to that church before. That was the place Deeper Life was doing their Bible study in 1978. Then there was this gentleman who walked up, they called him G.O. He is still G.O. today, but they call him Daddy G.O. He was the one who preached that day and the message was titled: “The Mercy of God.” I said this seems better than the background of what seems I was coming from, because, in fairness to Brother Kumuyi, he himself eventually went on television. He must have changed his mind, because that time he was very hard on such things. By the way, looking back today, there is a lot of evil on television. It is not the television that is the devil’s box, it is the programmes that people put on it. So you can
Cultist gang believed to be loyal to a political party invaded Adifase Street, Bariga, Lagos and hacked a motorcyclist, Segun Atupa, to death. Not done, the hoodlums severed the 28-year-old victim’s hand and fled with it. The murder came less than two weeks after political thugs killed two youths and beheaded one of them in the Fadeyi area of the state. Residents told PUNCH Metro that the thugs had returned from a rally before carrying out the attack. Our correspondent learnt that Atupa was attacked in the area around 8pm on October 24.Contine..He was said to have been ambushed and hacked with machetes repeatedly by the hoodlums while going about his evening business. Our correspondent also learnt that the hoodlums dumped Atupa’s body beside a canal on the street as they left. It was also learnt that the deceased, who lived on Olusoji Street, Bariga, was attacked because the hoodlums claimed that he was working as an informant for rival political gangs in the area. When PUNCH Metro visited Adifase Street on Tuesday, it was learnt that Atupa’s corpse had been removed from the canal by policemen attached to the Bariga Division, Somolu. A resident who wished to remain anonymous for fear of reprisal said the hoodlums pursued Atupa into the area and killed him. He said, “On Friday at about 8pm, we were all outside enjoying the evening until we began to hear noises. That is not strange in this area. But we also heard gunshots, and you could feel that some people were running towards our street. “Everyone was afraid and quickly rushed inside, bolting their doors. From inside my house, I was hearing deep voices of ‘pursue him and kill him’, ‘pursue him and kill him’. But no one could come out to check who it was. When it was morning, we saw the corpse of a man already killed and dumped in the canal.” Our correspondent learnt from a police source that the motorcyclist was not only killed, but one of his arms was also amputated, and taken away by the hoodlums, an act synonymous with a local gang known as theEFCC boys. When PUNCH Metro got to Atupa’s rented apartment on Olusoji Street, it was learnt from a neighbour that the motorcyclist’s wife had died from an accident, only about two weeks ago, and he was still grieving her death. It was further gathered that apart from the motorcyclist, another man was attacked and killed the followiong day by Bajulaiye canal, Bariga Road. The yet-to-be-identified victim was said to have been removed also by policemen from the Bariga Division. Another resident, Mr. Jamiu Oluyomi, said attacks on innocent lives in the area by thugs working for political parties had become commonplace, urging the police to intensify security in the Bariga and Somolu areas of the state. He said, “These thugs are not ghosts. We know them, the police know them too. They use aliases such as Eyin Bouncing, Ologun, Sean Paul, and Tolu T-boy.” PUNCH Metro learnt from residents that other hoodlums in the area use the following aliases: Yusuf Omo West, Lateef Fibre, Ogun owo, Rasaki Osanle, and BJ Paul. When contacted, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, said he would get back to our correspondent. He, however, had yet to do so as of press time.
